Dialysis

In healthy individuals, the kidneys help maintain safe levels of water and minerals in the body. Dialysis, or renal replacement therapy, is a medical procedure in which excess water, solutes, and toxins are removed from the blood of patients who have impaired kidney function. Kidney function can be reduced from a variety of causes, from injury to the organ, congenital conditions, or chronic diseases that affect the function of the kidneys.

As we specialize in the treatment of kidney-related diseases, Knoxville Kidney Center offers several services relating to dialysis:

  • Coverage at many regional dialysis clinics
  • Oversight and management of five dialysis clinics
  • Care of Home Peritoneal Dialysis patients, and Home Hemodialysis patients
